2013 Chevrolet Camaro Info

Good day everyone,

It is Monday morning and I wanted to throw out a quick post for everyone.  The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro is receiving the Chevrolet MyLink radio.  This new radio includes: AM/FM stereo, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, speed-compensated volume, digital clock, auxiliary input jack, USB post, 7-inch diagonal color touch-screen, smartphone integration, Gracenote database and enhanced voice recognition.  The interesting aspect of this radio that is going into the Camaro, is that it does NOT have a CD player.  Chevrolet has listened to his customers and in this vehicle and some other Chevrolet's, they will not have the CD players.

The LS Camaro's still do have the same radio's that the older models do.  Going up to a 1LT and above is where you get this MyLink Radio.  Also, Chevrolet announced pricing for the ZL1 and 1LE models: Camaro Pricing.

Thanks,

Mark H.

Total Confidence Chevrolet

Good day everyone,

Chevrolet kicked off their new incentive program and its called the "Chevrolet Total Confidence 60 Day Purchase Satisfaction Program".  This program is good through 9/4/12.  When you purchase a new Chevrolet, you have to keep it at least 30 days, and then between that 30-60 day mark, you can return it, no questions asked.  The only *stipulations* are no damage and less than 4,000 miles on the vehicle.

You can opt out of this program and receive additional $500 off the vehicle or $250 off on the Sonic/Spark.

Also the "Total Confidence Pricing" is a no haggle best price offer on Chevrolet's.  That is the GM Supplier Pricing.  Note, GM employee's still get their GM Employee pricing (EVA).  This is designed for the best price and standard pricing across the board at all Chevrolet dealerships.

Here is a write up on the programs from: AutoBlog

If you have any questions, feel free to call me at (765) 457-8333.

*Please check with local Chevrolet Dealers for all rules and conditions*

Thanks,

Mark H.

Combined 30 MPG Cars - Cruze and Sonic

Good day,

Today I was looking at articles on Yahoo and came across the article that highlighted six US made cars that get a combined more than 30 MPG.  Chevrolet is proud to have two on that list, the Chevrolet Cruze and the Chevrolet Sonic.

Here is the article starting on page three: Chevy Cruze
Then click the next page tab or page four, to see the Chevy Sonic.

It will be pretty soon and I can see possibly two more vehicles from Chevrolet on that list.

Have a great day,

Mark H.

Is it Really July?

Tomorrow is the 4th of July, so enjoy Independence Day with family and friends.  I will have a post of updated incentives probably on Thursday.  It was a busy month and sorry for not having a post lately.  I need to get back "into the saddle".

I'll leave you with a quote from Benjamin Franklin, "Well done is better than well said."

2010 Chevrolet Equinox Pre-Own

7/3 Update: SOLD
Looking for a newer model, but not wanting to pay deprecation cost that is associated with new vehicles?  Look no further than Eriks Chevrolet!

2010 Chevrolet Equinox 2LT
Navy Blue Metallic
One OWNER Vehicle!

It has a 2.4L 4 cylinder engine and an automatic transmission.  The interior color is Jet Black cloth.  The exterior color is navy blue metallic, which is a very hard to find color.  It is equipped with a rear vision camera and has a 8-way power driver seat and remote vehicle start.  With less than 24,000 miles on it, it is definitely a great car to grab now.

Sticker Price NEW was: $26,630.00
Sticker NOW:      $21,900.00

Almost $5,000.00 off sticker when it was new, and remember this model at the time had no rebates and incentives weren't that strong,

Now what are payments?
72 months
 NO money down....
$364.00 with approved Credit*

Can't beat a low monthly payment with a reliable one owner SUV.

Give me a call if you have any questions or just stop by and ask for me, Mark Hemmerly.

Thanks again,

Mark

Memorial Day Purchase Bonus Cash 2012

Good day,

Did someone say Purchase Bonus Cash?!?!  Yes, I did!  Yesterday, 5/16/12 through 5/31/12, Chevrolet came out with extra incentives for select Chevrolet models.

  • 2011-2012 Cruze, Malibu = $500.00
  • 2011-2012 Avalanche, Silverado (All), Suburban, Tahoe, Traverse = $750.00
This is surprising on two vehicles, the 2012 Malibu and the 2012 Silverado.  The Malibu for one, already has the strongest incentives I have ever seen and the inventory is very bare on dealer's lots.  Now, another $500 to add to it; is surprising but rewarding.  Here is my post on the 2012 Malibu incentives. The Silverado has strong incentives too, especially if you buy an Extended Cab with the Custom Sport Truck package, which gets an additional $1,000 allowance.

So there you go, new incentives till the end of the month.  Its time to jump on it and purchase.

Have a great day,

Mark H.

Good day,

Time is running out on finding a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu.  The inventory on Chevrolet's Dealer's lots are running lower and lower each day.  The incentives are strong; the time is now.  More or less, this is your last call for a 2012 Malibu.

Here is a list of incentives: (as of 5/9/12 good through 7/2/12 until otherwise noted)

  • $3,000.00 Malibu LS Rebate
  • $4,000.00 Malibu Not LS Rebate
  •  (Percentage off sticker- roughly $600-$1,200 off) *GM Employee Buyer gets Preferred discount
  • $2,500.00 on a Buy: EVA (Employee Vehicle Allowance)
  • $1,500.00 on a Lease: EVA (Employee Vehicle Allowance)
  • $750.00 *USAA insurance
  • $1,000.00 *Saturn Owner/Lessee Loyalty Offer: 99 or newer Saturn in household

I thought that this video is suiting for the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu...

2012 Chevrolet Malibu, Time is Now

Good day,

The Chevrolet Malibu has great incentives going on right now.  GM came out with additional money for GM Employee Buyers, so the timing is right.  I will go over the incentives in just a second, but I would like to inform the customers what new things that are going on with the Chevrolet Malibu.

The 2012 Chevrolet Malibu is on its last year in the current body style.  The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a new body style that is dynamic.  The technology in the ECO version/trim level, such as the e-assist is the technology of the future.  But if you are looking a NEW car and love incentives such as great discounts and rebates, then the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu is the car for YOU.

Here are the current 2012 Chevrolet Malibu Incentives good through 4/30/12

  • GM Employee Buyer gets Preferred discount (Percentage off sticker- roughly $600-$1,200 off)*
  • $2,500.00 EVA is off Preferred discount (Last month was $1,500 off)
  • $3,000.00 Rebate on LS Trim Level Malibu
  • $4,000.00 Rebate on 1LT, 2LT, and LTZ's Trim Levels
Fully Loaded Malibu will have around $7,700.00* Off Sticker!!

The 2012 Chevrolet Malibu's on the lots right now are it.  They are done with production and the new 2013's are being produced.  So in the next few weeks, your selection of the 2012's are going to dwindle.  I would say that at the end of April, it'll be hard to find a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu to buy.  So the time is now!

The 2012 Chevy Sonic - How I Would Buy One Equipped

Good afternoon,

Hope everyone is awake with this Daylight Savings Time adjustment that happened this weekend.  I know it means less sleep at first but the sun does go down later in the evening which is a plus.  It definitely makes a difference, it keeps our moods in a positive flow.

So today in this article I am going to highlight, if I were to buy a 2012 Chevy Sonic, this is how I would order it.  Before we get started, here is the Chevy Sonic's own Music Video.

2012 Chevrolet Sonic Sedan - Courtesy from www.chevrolet.com

Pretty sweet huh?

Let's get started.  The first thing we need to find out is the hatchback or the sedan version.  Being more conservative myself, I will choose the sedan.  For just $1,000 more if you choose the sportier 5-Door, you will definitely get your money's worth, if only in cargo capacity and versatility alone. The next item to check off is the exterior color: options are crystal red tintcoat, victory red, summit white, black, silver ice metallic, inferno orange metallic, blue topaz metallic, and cyber-gray metallic.  My choice is the Black, its a sharp color on this vehicle.

The next item to go over is the trim levels.  With this vehicle being a compact vehicle, the new car prices are very affordable.  Like most Chevy's, the Sonic shares the popular trim levels of LS, LT, and LTZ; ranging in price from $14,600 to $19,420.  I am going for the LTZ for the price since it's no more than a lower end Cruze.

Then next we have the power train.  The Chevy Sonic offers two engines, the 1.8L base engine and the 1.4L Turbo.  The difference in price between the two is $700.00.  Not bad considering the Highway mileage on the 1.8L is 35 and the 1.4L manual is 40mpg (1.4L automatic not rated yet).  That is a 5 miles per gallon more and you can recoup that in about 3 yrs or so depending on driving habits.  This is a tough one, but I will order the 1.4L Turbo with the 6-speed Automatic Transmission.

The last item is the sunroof.  I know most people that have sunroofs do not really use them, but for me if I have the option to get one, I will.  So a sunroof is $850.00 extra.

Now lets rehash what I want in my Sonic:

  • 2012 Chevy Sonic LTZ Sedan
  • Black Exterior
  • Black Interior
  • 1.4L Turbo Engine
  • 6-Speed Automatic Transmission
  • Sunroof

Here is the pricing on this vehicle:
  • MSRP: $20,270
  • Preferred: $19,554.89
  • EVA <$250.00>
  • GMS Price: $19,304.89
  • USAA <$750.00>   Thanks dad for retired US Air Force and grandfathering me into the USAA company.
  • My price: $18,554.89 plus state tax and Documentation Fee.

So there you have it, if I was to buy a Chevy Sonic today, this is how I would want one equipped.  Now, I didn't go over what was standard on the LTZ trim level, but if you have questions please do leave them at the comments page and I can answer them for you. Also, here is the link to Eriks Chevrolet.

GE to Buy 12,000 Chevrolet Volts by 2015

Good evening,

My brother sent me this e-mail.  In the next three years, GE has pushed the Electric Vehicle (EV) market to the forefront with a pledge of buying 25,000 new EV's with about 12,000 of them being the Chevrolet Volt.  These vehicles will replace their global fleet of vehicles through its Capital Fleet Services Business.

What are your thoughts about this?  I think this is a great idea that GE has done and it will definitely make the EV's more noticeable and push the technology even further.  In the bigger cities, the infrastructure will improve (Charging Stations).

Here is the article on GE reports' website: GE to Buy 12,000 Chevrolet Volts

The Chevy Impala, The time is "Right Now"

Good afternoon everyone,

Just wanted to pass along information that I received yesterday.  GM came out with additional money for the Chevy Impala for GM Employee buyers.  The employee vehicle allowance (EVA) was $2,500.  Now it has received additional $1,000 to make it a total of $3,500 EVA.  You can't beat that.

So I grabbed an invoice of a 2012 LT Impala, with a LT Sunroof Package (which includes an Universal Home Remote).  The MSRP is $28,995.00

Lets take a look at the current incentives which are good through 2/29/12

MSRP $28,995.00
Pref     $28,268.41
EVA <$3,500.00>
           $24,768.41
Rebate <$4,000.00>
$20,768.41 plus tax and doc fee

Oh yea, we do have the GM Loyalty Program going on right now.
You have a GM vehicle in the household that's a '99 or newer?  If yes, that's an additional $500.00 off

$20,768.41
<$500.00>
$20,268.41 plus tax and doc fee

That is a total of $8,726.59 off of sticker!

Chevy Sonic featured in the Needing/Getting Music Video

Good morning everyone,

I know I already posted this on my Facebook wall, but I liked it too much for people not to see this the first time around.  This music video amazes me every time I see it.  I really want to know the background on how they did this, computer algorithm or something?  I like what Chevy is doing on their commercials and advertising.  It's different and unique and gets people talking about their cars.

By the way, its Monday, so you need a little break.

A Review on the 2013 Malibu Eco

Good afternoon everyone,

I just saw this on Twitter and wanted to pass it on to everyone.  "VroomGirls.com" is a site that will do reviews of various vehicles and recently they did a review of the Malibu and it was outstanding.  Read here: Malibu Eco

If you want, you can also follow them at @Vroomgirls

Great review and I definitely think that the 2013 Malibu Eco is a Grand Slam!

Mad River Bar & Grille Chicago New Years

Good morning,

I am not in any way a restaurant critic, so my views are just from a customers point of view, not a professional food journalist.  I do believe though what I have to say, needs to be said, for Mad River really "Dropped the Ball" on New Years.

A little background on the situation.  Mad River Bar and Grille is located in Chicago, IL on Sheffield Ave.  My girlfriend and I came up for New Years (From Kokomo, IN) and visited a fraternity brother of mine.  He booked the tickets for the New Years Eve Party.

This is what Mad River promised their customers for a ticket:
$90 New Years Eve Ticket
  • All you can Drink (top Shelf)
  • Elegant Dinner Buffet from 9pm - 2am
  • hor dourves
  • Champagne Toast at Midnight
  • Coat Check $3

Some of you are asking why would I pay $90 for a New Years Eve event.  Well, one can justify if what they are promising is what you are getting.  The drinks, if I went to a regular bar in Chicago are about $5 a drink, so lets say I drink 8 drinks the whole night; that would equal $40.  If I go to a restaurant and order food, guarantee another $20-30 just on food; lets go in the middle, $25.  Then the hor dourves and Champagne toast, lets say $10.  We are up to $75 out of the $90.  Ok, I guess I can pay $15 for the entertainment of being around people and having a great DJ performing.

Now what did I receive for my ticket?  We got their about 9:30ish and Mad River had a line going about half a block.  It took us about 30 min to get in, ok not bad but not good.  Then when we get in, we looked for the coat check, which was upstairs.  When we got there, they said that they were "full", couldn't take anymore coats.  WHAT?!?!  How do you have a coat check and not know what your capacity is or know that about everyone that is coming is bringing a coat to check, because we are in Chicago and it gets cold up there.  So we had to hold onto our coats for about 20-30 min until we tried again where they magically had room to take our coats for $3.

Now where was the elegant buffet?  So we went off looking for this buffet.  It didn't even exist.  They had a, uno, one; folding table with two platters of hor dourves!!  That was their version of the elegant buffet and hor dourves coming in ONE!  Lets just say, thoroughly disappointed.  Oh yea, and that table was folded up by 11 pm, even when their website said that food would be available until 2 am.

So here comes mid-night.  Where was the champagne toast at?  It didn't exist, we didn't get one!  Oh yea, and the DJ was off the countdown because my cell phone already said 12:00 about a min before he started the 10 second countdown.

Now did anything happen good that night at Mad River?  The bartenders were nice and courteous for a night when they are extremely busy.  The drinks were good, in my opinion.  The DJ played good music.

So did we have a fun time?  Yes, because we are not going to let these things ruin a night, but will I ever go back to Mad River, NO.  That is just my opinion of a customer, not a professional food journalist.

Thanks for reading and hopefully Mad River sees this, and adjusts their advertising to what they actually deliver in product/service.

    Mark
